Sample Nine Day Tour

 

Cost: $1600/ per person (minimum 10 people)

 

The tour cost includes the following:

  • Accommodations for eight nights;

  • The tour includes all breakfasts at all locations and all meals while at the Beach House. Guests are responsible for all other meals outside the Beach House;

  • Airport transfers and ground transportation for the Tour Itinerary;

  • Tour Guide;

  • Round trip airfare from Accra to Kumasi;

  • All entrance fees for locations in the Tour Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival

Your arrival will be at Kotoka International Airport, Accra.

You will be greeted and assisted once you have completed the immigration and customs formalities and taken to the Sankofa Beach House.

Your Tour Director will introduce you to your Tour Guide. The Director will give you an orientation of the program. In addition, you will be given an introduction to Ghana’s people and customs; and general health and safety information. Upon request, mobile phones and numbers can be made available for an additional fee upon arrival.

The rest of the day is free for you to rest and enjoy Sankofa Beach House

Day 2: Let the Vacation Begin

After breakfast, spend the day resting at the Beach House. Enjoy a Welcome Bar b Que Dinner with music in the evening.

Day 3: Exploring Accra

Following breakfast, the Guide will take you on a sightseeing tour of Accra, Ghana’s political and administrative capital, a city with a blend of colonial and modern images. You will visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Museum. The Museum visit is followed by a brief introduction to gift shopping at the Arts Center Bazaar in the Center for National Culture. You see on display the popular “Kente clothe, fabrics, carvings, leather goods and jewelry, as well as a host of other souvenir items.

Day 4: Kumasi Arrival

After breakfast, you will fly to Kumasi (a 1/2 hour flight). Hotel check-in and lunch.

After lunch, you will visit the National Culture Center and Prempeh II Jubilee Museum. You will continue on with a city tour visiting the Asantehene’s Palace.

The group will go out to dinner in the evening.

Day 6: Explore Kumasi

After breakfast, you will visit the Ashanti Kingdom Cultural Villages:

  • Ahiwaa- wood carving village

  • Ntonso- Adinkra clothe making village

  • Bonwire- Kente weaving village

At the end of the day, you will fly back to Accra and return to Sankofa Beach House for dinner.

Day Six: Cape Coast

After breakfast, you will depart for El Mina and Cape Coast. After arrival and check-in at your Hotel and you will have lunch. After lunch you will be guided through the Cape Coast Castle and the West African Historical Museum.

Day Seven: Kakum National Park

After breakfast, you will experience the exhilarating effect of a tropical forest at Kakum Nature Reserve. You will take a nature walk into Kakum and traverse one of the worlds few rope bridges in the canopy of the forest. After the nature walk, you will stop for lunch along the ocean. When lunch is finished you will return to Sankofa Beach House in Accra.

Day Eight: Pan-Africanism

After breakfast, you will visit the W.E.B. Du Bois Memorial Center for Pan African Culture and lay a ceremonial wreath at the tomb of Dr. Du Bois marking the end of your visit to Ghana. In the evening there will be a farewell dinner prior to your departure from Ghana.

Day Nine: Departure

Departure flight to the US will depart from Accra.
